The Dahlia Fields

Gustav Reiner arrived in America in 1928. Upon his arrival, he lived with his uncle George in German Village, working in the family bakery- Reiner's Bakery- located at 541 South Third. In 1940, Gustav opened a nursery at 3480 Maize Pike in North Linden. In 1950, that nursery was moved to its current location. Prior to the building of Oakland Park Nursery, this area was planted in Dahlia Fields.
